Hardware engineer to Agentic AI engineer

Silicon to Software: An Engineering Evolution

I spent thirteen years in engineering research, got a PhD in chip design, and learned to see the world as interconnected systems. After defending my doctorate, it hit me: I'd been working at the bottom of the technology stack, etching silicon at nano resolution to meet requirements I never questioned. All those specs came from the top, from applications where real people use technology. I realized I wanted to be up there, building things people actually interact with and shape the society, not just implementing someone else's vision in hardware.

In 2021, I found my passion at the intersection of AI, data, and crypto. It wasn't abandoning hardware engineering, it was evolving from it. The same principles that govern electron flow through silicon now help me architect data flows through prompt templates, memories and networks. Electrons and data aren't that different when you think about it.

Here's the truth: I hated coding throughout my entire PhD. Ran from it completely. But when I needed to build applications to realize my vision, programming became joyful. Each bug made me happy to not design chip anymore, since when my design fails, I don't waste expensive silicon wafers and half a year till next chip tape-out shuttle.

Today, I use Claude Code and other AI tools to do most the ground work. I spend good time upfront planning the architecture, mapping data flows, optimizing architecture. What once took months before Claude 4.1 Opus now takes hours at my desk.

I work with LLMs and AI Agent frameworks now, but I'm still that engineer who gets excited about elegant solutions. Whether routing and manipulating electrons through silicon or tokens through inference, the goal is the same: make complex things simple, make slow things fast, and build things that work. Still learning, still failing, still building.

Engineering Evolution

Academic Background

2011-2020

Masters in Microsystems Engineering at IMTEK/University of Freiburg, followed by PhD in Mixed Signal Circuit and Chip Design at TU Berlin.

Systems Architect

Core Strength

My engineering DNA remains unchanged, I see systems, patterns, and architectures. The medium evolved from etching silicon to sculpting code, but the precision and systematic thinking persist.

AI Native Building

Present

Leveraging Claude Code with Sonnet 4.1 Opus and 4.0 Sonnet, I transform concepts into production-ready applications in hours.

Product Philosophy

Driving Force

User experience is sacred. I'm my own first user, obsessively refining until the product brings joy.

Building Journey

2021-2022

Datalatte - A data monetization app

500+ Netflix & Spotify data uploads, partnered with Ocean Protocol. My first passionate idea, but realized users care to use apps to solve their problems not for idealistic view of data ownership.

2022-2023

Datalatte Survey Platform

10 surveys, 500 respondents, $500 bounties distributed. It made sense but realized I want build applications that empower user with their own data, not a business asking for surveys.

2023-2024

Hackathon Champion Era

Core Expertise

AI Native Products

I bring value in building AI native products and agents, especially on open-source frameworks like ElizaOS. I've designed dozens of agents and plugins and I'm fluent in agentic framework. Read my article on ElizaOS

Developer Relations

I am technical and I teached before in university, I like to make complex topics sound simple and I like to support builders and developers leveraging technology to shape the world.

Product & UX Focus

I'm obsessed with product and user experience. I'm the first user of my own products. I think outside the box to find the most user-friendly way to integrate technology without compromising UX.

Let's Build Something Amazing

I excel in being independent and get tunnel focoused to get the job done. I like to spend enough time at the beginning to define a task well by talking with stakeholders, then lock myself in to get to the first MVP in hours.
